TR: Saving a Foot

TR’s foot was partially amputated due to gangrene and he was living on the street with open wounds, unable to walk or care for himself. Dr. Hall was called to check on him and determined that he could not be a rough sleeper while trying to save the rest of his foot. Several agencies took turns paying for a week at a motel and Dr. Hall and Cindy visited every other day to wash and dress his foot. TR went from being scared and angry to trusting us. After several weeks, we were able to find him size 14 shoes and he was able to place a little weight on it. After several months, his foot is healed and he can walk pretty well. He is in a boarding house.
