JD: Restoring a Skull

JD had a job and an apartment when his tooth infection went into his jaw and from there into his skull. He had surgery at UNC to remove part of his skull. When released, he returned to find he no longer had a job or a place to live. When we discovered him, he was living in the woods. We began helping him with his medical needs and found out he had never returned to have a prosthesis placed over the open part of his skull. Besides treating his other medical needs, we were able to reconnect with his surgeon and find JD a ride to see him. JD now has his skull covered after surgery and is doing well.
